Utah requires license for both. Big game exclusively by draw system. Bonus/preference point system. Once-in-lifetime species.

FISHING: License required age 12+ ($34 resident, $75 non-resident). HUNTING: License required ($34 resident, $65 non-resident). BIG GAME: ENTIRELY by draw system - no OTC tags. Bonus point system for premium species. Once-in-lifetime species: bison, desert bighorn, Rocky Mountain goat, moose. General deer and elk units more accessible. Cougar and bear permits separate. Hunter education required. Utah Code §23-19.

HUNTING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

HUNTER EDUCATION

• Safety zones: Near buildings, roads
