HUNTING LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

HUNTER EDUCATION

FISHING: License required age 12+ ($25 resident, $56 non-resident). HUNTING: License required ($25 resident, $130 non-resident). Big game: primarily by draw (elk, deer, antelope, bear, cougar). UNIQUE: Oryx (White Sands) and ibex hunts available. Some units require guides for non-residents. Extensive public land access on BLM, USFS, state trust land. Hunter education required. NMSA §17-1.
