Delaware requires a license for hunting, trapping, fishing, clamming, and crabbing. A trout stamp is needed for trout waters. Sunday hunting is now permitted for all legal game animals and game birds during established seasons (HB 278, signed June 10, 2026); private landowners and public agencies may still restrict Sunday hunting on land they own or control. Dogs may be used to track or recover wounded or dead deer during open season. The sale of taxidermy and antlers from lawfully taken deer is allowed. Hunter education is required for those born after January 1, 1967, and trapping education for those born after January 1, 1978; individuals exempt from licensing must still complete a department-approved safety and education program.
