Tennessee has NO legal cannabis - no medical (except limited CBD for seizures), no recreational. All possession is misdemeanor, subsequent offenses are felonies.

Tennessee has no medical or recreational cannabis program. Very limited CBD for seizures only (2015). ALL possession is criminal: First offense is Class A misdemeanor (up to 1 year, $2500 fine). Repeat simple-possession offenses (under 0.5 oz) also remain Class A misdemeanors - the felony enhancement for repeat marijuana possession was eliminated in 2016; possession over 0.5 oz can be charged as felony possession with intent (Tenn. Code Ann. 39-17-417). Nashville and Memphis briefly decriminalized small amounts in 2016, but state law nullified those local ordinances in April 2017 - the $50 local citation option no longer exists anywhere in Tennessee.
