South Dakota has medical cannabis (since 2020). Recreational passed then was struck down by courts. Under 2oz is misdemeanor.

South Dakota approved medical cannabis in 2020 (IM 26). Patients may possess up to 3 oz. Recreational also passed (Amendment A) but was struck down by state supreme court. RECREATIONAL ILLEGAL: Possession under 2 oz is Class 1 misdemeanor (up to 1 year, $2000 fine). Over 2 oz is felony. Distribution is felony. SDCL §34-20G.
