Duty to Inform - On Demand (On Contact for Out-of-State Permits)

Oklahoma: If carrying under Oklahoma's own authority you must identify that you are armed only when an officer demands it during an arrest, detainment or routine traffic stop (21 O.S. § 1290.8(D), citation up to $100); but a traveler carrying on another state's permit must disclose the firearm upon coming into contact with any Oklahoma peace officer, without waiting for a demand (21 O.S. § 1290.26(B)).

No-Carry Signs - Trespass If You Refuse to Leave

Oklahoma: A posted 'No Firearms' sign lets the owner deny you entry or order you off the property; the misdemeanor (fine up to $250) applies only if you are told you are in violation, refuse to leave, and a peace officer is summoned (21 O.S. § 1290.22(E)).

A property owner, tenant, employer, liquor store, place of worship or business entity may prohibit carrying, and if the building or property is open to the public must post signs stating the prohibition (21 O.S. § 1290.22(C)).
WHAT THIS MEANS
Carrying past a posted sign subjects you to being denied entry or removed from the property. It becomes a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $250 only if you have been informed by the owner, business entity or manager that you are violating the policy, you refuse to leave, and a peace officer is summoned (21 O.S. § 1290.22(E)). A property owner may not prohibit firearms stored in a locked vehicle in a parking area (21 O.S. § 1290.22(B)).

Constitutional Carry - No Permit Required

Oklahoma allows permitless concealed and open carry for anyone 21+ (18-20 for current military members and veterans) who can legally possess a firearm (21 O.S. § 1272(A)(6), effective Nov. 1, 2019).

Oklahoma enacted HB 2597 effective November 1, 2019. Anyone 21+ (18+ current military members and veterans) may carry without permit. Prohibited places: government buildings, schools, bars, casinos, sports venues. 21 O.S. §1272(A)(6). SDA license available for reciprocity.
