New York prohibits alcohol in most state park areas. Grocery stores sell beer only. Open container illegal.
New York restricts liquor/wine to dedicated liquor stores (not grocery - beer only). STATE PARKS: Alcohol PROHIBITED in most areas except designated picnic facilities with permit. NYC: No public drinking - brown bag doesn't work. OPEN CONTAINER: Prohibited for all vehicle occupants. DUI (per se): 0.08% BAC (VTL 1192(2)); a BAC above 0.05% can support a lesser DWAI charge (VTL 1192(1); evidentiary standards in VTL 1195(2)). ABC Law §105.
