Idaho follows FAA regulations for flight operations, but state law adds a privacy restriction: Idaho Code 21-213 prohibits using a UAS to conduct surveillance of, or photograph/record, targeted persons or private property without written consent, and creates a civil cause of action for violations. Extensive BLM and National Forest land allows drone use. Yellowstone and Craters of the Moon NM prohibit drones. State parks generally allow drones. Boise has no specific ordinances. Mountain terrain may affect GPS and radio signals.
